11 WHISTLING DUCK CABERNET MERLOT (New South Wales, Australia). A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with distinctive dark berry, plum and cassis aromas and a palate displaying red berry and plum characters. £15.80
   
12 RIO ALTO MERLOT (Chile). A smooth drop with light tannins, with aromas reminding of plums and full fruit flavours with vanilla notes developing on the palate. £16.40
   
13 CASTILLO DE MONTBLANC TEMPRANILLO (Catalonia, Spain). Unoaked, in contrast to most Rioja Tempranillo, to allow the ripe, warm fruit to shine through and give the succulent fruit an opportunity to match a wider range of foods. £16.50

15 CHATEAU LA PASSONE (Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, France). An absolutely outstanding claret with plenty of easy, succulent fruit, a good structure provided by very soft, ripe tannins and a long finish. £20.50
